Unexpected Doctors Appointment- 30 Weeks Pregnant

I can't believe that we are at 30 weeks and already a couple weeks into the third trimester! I love this baby girl so much and she is getting so big! We have had a couple crazy weeks with this pregnancy. I have been having a lot of what I thought were Braxton Hicks contractions, and nothing seemed to help them stop. Some of them were more intense and were coming 5 an hour or so. I was nervous because at my 20 week anatomy scan, the doctors told me I had a little bit higher chance that I could go into preterm labor. At my 28 week appointment, I was telling my midwife about the contractions and because of the previous concern, she decided to check me. We found out that I was already dilated to at least a 1 and was 70% effaced. Not the best news when you are just starting the third trimester. I was given a Fetal Fibronectin Test, which came back postive. If positive, that means you have a 30% chance of having your baby in the next two weeks. Scary news to hear. We are already at a week past the test, so we are hoping we don't fall into that category! I was given steroid injections to help Baby Girl's lungs if she is born early. I am also on a medication to keep my contractions under control, and my personal favorite.....the modified bed rest. We are hoping to keep her in till at least 34 weeks. I am hopeful to keep her in till at least 36 weeks. Sophie was born right at 37 weeks so I feel confident that it will all work out. One of the hardest parts is the uncertainty. She could come tomorrow, or I could go full term. We just don't know. Until then, they are keeping a close eye on me and I am taking it super easy. Sophie has been awesome and so helpful. She makes the bed rest a lot more bearable. Sky has taken over a lot of my wife and mommy duties and has been a total sweetheart. We are trying to get everything ready for this little girl and are so excited to meet her. We just hope it's not for at least another 6 weeks :)
